Last week, at Elmwood’s Great Outdoors camp our campers celebrated the natural environment through a variety of engaging games, crafts and activities! A highlight of the week was our trip to Brewer Park where the girls enjoyed playing in the splash pad. Back at camp they created their own scavenger hunts, learned survival skills, pitched tents and put their green thumbs to use in the Elmwood garden. Unfortunately, the weather did not always cooperate with us and we were not able to spend as much time outdoors as we would have liked but we had no trouble bringing the outdoor fun inside when necessary. To complement what the girls learned about living things, habitats and ecosystems the girls made chia pets, bird feeders, nest helpers, and did animal yoga! The week culminated in our Big BBQ on Friday complete with hotdogs and s’mores!
