A bit about me:
I recently completed the Concurrent Education program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and moved back to the Ottawa area. Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching in the primary, junior and intermediate divisions at Ottawa Christian School. I really enjoy playing sports, especially soccer and basketball as well as coaching. I also love music and enjoy singing and dabbling with the guitar. I have enjoyed being a part of various summer camps for the past several years and I am so excited to be working at Elmwood Camps for Girls this summer. There is something truly unique about an all girls environment and I have immensely enjoyed my time here so far.
Three things I love about camp:
- The atmosphere of excitement and energy the kids bring to camp. The summer camp experience provides an environment slightly more flexible than school that allows campers to unwind and let their silliness reign!
- When campers build relationships that allow them to be vulnerable and try new things without fear of failure.
- The personal one-on-one connections with campers that take place on bus rides, hikes or during meal times.
