For students entering Grades 9 and 10 in September 2017
Instructor: Dr. Mohammad Mahin
This program provides excellent preparation for Grade 9 Science (SNC1D) and Grade 10 Science (SNC2D), with a focus on understanding concepts in chemistry and earth science while exploring Ottawa’s unique landscapes and ecosystems. Scientific investigation skills will be developed through examining the interrelationships between science, technology, society and the environment. The excursions and fieldwork offered in this camp will give students an in-depth understanding of the natural processes that shape Ottawa’s landscape and the biodiversity that lives within it. Students will also learn how to conduct soil and water analysis using an HACH spectrometry device, along with a variety of field-work techniques that will develop environmental data collection skills.
