FULL DAY: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
For students entering Grades 7 – 10 in September 2017
Instructor: Angela Boychuk
How would you like to join an acting ensemble and together mount a one-act play in just one week? Enroll in Elmwood Theatre’s Play-Making Workshop and you will do just that! Whether you are passionate about performing, or just learning about drama for the first time, this is the camp for you. On the first morning, you will read a script and be cast in a play; rehearsals will then begin in earnest (aka: the fun will begin!), including warmup activities, theatre games, improvisation, movement, line memorization and scene study. Building a great acting ensemble develops cooperation, friendships and a strong sense of collaboration. On the final day, you and your fellow actors will be involved in a technical dress rehearsal in the morning, followed by a public performance for family and friends on the stage in Elmwood’s Auditorium. Experienced drama counsellors will also be on hand throughout the week to “play” with you before, during and after theatre rehearsals – so let the Play-Making begin!
