Experience Elmwood’s exceptional rowing program with our annual Learn to Row Camp! Learn basic rowing techniques and safety principles, and develop your fitness level in this exciting, intensive introduction to the sport of rowing! Led by two experienced rowers and Elmwood Old Girls, this camp offers an unforgettable summer opportunity for girls entering Grades 8 – 10.
Coach Emmie Page is a former Elmwood Head Girl. She has graduated from UBC with a combined major in Biology/Oceanography. She spent four years on UBC’s Varsity Rowing Team, earning three Henley Golds as a Lightweight Rower for the Ottawa Rowing Club and was the 3x University Championships Women’s Eight Coxie. She was the Executive President of the UBC Rowing Team and is a certified lifeguard and swim instructor. Coach Sophie Ackert is also an Elmwood Old Girl. In her rowing career, she has collected many medals, a highlight being winning silver at the Canadian Secondary School Rowing Championships. She is currently attending the University of Exeter in England where she is studying for a Bachelor of Science in Geography while rowing on their Senior women’s team.
